LORENA MORENO VERA (MX 1986)

Is a curator, and writer living and working between Mexico City and Vienna. Senior student of the Master in Critical Studies at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna, and a recipient of the Jumex Contemporary Art Foundation Postgraduate Grant.

Among her latest projects are For The Days Yet To Come (2020, AT), The Captives (2019, AT), What Is Past Is Prologue (2019, AT), Espacio Compartido / Tiempo Limitado (2019, MX), and Here & Elsewhere (2018, MX). In 2009 co-founded Latitud Arte Contemporaneo, a curatorial program that sought to explore other conditions of producing, exhibiting, and influencing the urban context.

She has worked for over seven years in production, research, and exhibition organization in institutions such as Jumex Foundation for Contemporary Art (Mexico), MONA – Museum of Old and New Art (Tasmania), and in galleries such as Zeller van Almsick (Vienna), MARSO (Mexico), and Luis Adelantado (Mexico). In 2016 she co-edited and published together with Michel Blancsubé the book La revuelta de los ángeles salidos del limbo (Accionismo vienés), a significant research about Vienna Actionism bridged with the Latin American action movements, and the Spanish edition of Der Wiener Aktionismus und die Österreicher (El accionismo vienés y los austriacos).

For three years she worked as curatorial assistant at Jumex Contemporary Art Foundation in projects like Sinfonía für Mexico City by Hermann Nitsch, Inhabiting Time, and SUPERFLEX: The Corrupt Show and The Speculative Machine.
